Your Questions, My Answers

Where does the training take place?

Many of my athletes are from Puyallup, Tacoma, Seattle and other surrounding areas, but I also have athletes from out of state. For my local athletes, I offer run coaching sessions at local tracks and nearby trails. For both local and out of town athletes I offer strength coaching sessions both in-person at local parks and virtually via Zoom. I also offer in-person and virtual consultations. In-person consults are usually at a local coffee shop or park and virtual consultations are done through Zoom. Just contact me - I am sure we will find a something that fits your needs perfectly!

Do you run with me?

Often, YES! When my own training needs line up with the training needs of my athletes I love running together. Occasionally when I'm in a buildup for a race I will cycle along instead.

What are your certifications?

  • BS in Exercise Science from Seattle Pacific University - 2003
  • Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association) - 2006
  • United States Track and Field (USATF) Level 1 coaching certification - 2013

Check out the “Meet Ruth“ page for more details about my biography.

Why should I spend money on a running coach?

My goal is to offer you a personalized coaching experience that is tailored to your specific training needs. I provide an experience that is interactive and effective in reaching your goals. I am highly educated, experienced and motivating. You are sure to learn a lot with me and have fun doing it!

How often should I train with you?

Many of my athletes thrive by following the training plan and having one coaching session per week. Some athletes prefer to meet for coaching sessions twice a week. And other athletes prefer only following the training plan with no coaching sessions. I am happy to make recommendations based on your needs, but this is entirely up to each athlete and their desired level of interaction.

How do I pay?

The Cash App through Square is how I accept payment from most athletes.  There is a very small convenience fee but the ease of the service is more than worth it.  I also accept checks and cash (exact change please!).
